GRATITUDE NEXT TO HAPPINESS
GRATITUDE
A small boy saw a toy Car and then went ahead to inform his Dad about it. "Dad, I saw a nice little Car with multiple colors like that of a rainbow at the toy shop down the street. I saw it on my way home from school today and I really Love it. Would you buy one for me, please?"
Dad stooped down and grabbed his waist, "Offcourse my boy. I'll do anything for you." Meanwhile, Dad doesn't plan to. The boy was very excited by his Dad's response.
That night, before going to bed, he went to his Dad's room to say Goodnight. When he got there, he thanked him for promising to buy him the toy.
The next morning, when Dad was about to prepare him for school, he said: "Thanks Dad for the toy car." Dad smiled at him but surprised. He wondered why he said that, he had not bought it for him yet.
He repeated the same when he came back from school and before the went to bed that night. He continued thanking his Dad daily for the toy car even though the Dad haven't done anything about it after 2 weeks. This boy doesn't seem to be bordered. He was very happy and hopeful with great confidence.
After greeting him as usual before going to bed one day, the Dad said to himself, "I must buy this toy tomorrow. I feel stupid and irresponsible whenever he thanks me for what I've not yet done for him."
The Dad bought the Toy Car the following day and gave it to him, he was the happiest child that day. He told all his friends about how his Dad never fails when he promises him. The Dad overheard it and was proud of himself and his boy.
The story of this boy teaches faith, hope and Gratitude. It takes real humility and contentment to be grateful.
Everyone has something to be grateful for. And your gratitude is what qualifies you for more blessing relative to that area of your needs.
Being ungrateful is associated with covetousness, pride & Indifference. You are not happy because you've not allowed yourself to see the reason to, or because you've attached your happiness to some certain achievements that if you do not get, you'll loose your peace.
Many people become uncomfortable whenever they see a friend or neighbor with a seemingly better result than them. This many times leads to Jealousy and Bitterness.
You're not at peace with yourself because you've not seen any good about yourself. And its very easy for someone to piss you off with an insult on your personality
If you attach your happiness to any material things, then the day you loose it is the day you'll loose your joy. Many rich people finds it difficult to lend or give freely. Because they're afraid it might finish soon and that may cause them to loose their Joy and hence their fame and influence.
When you're grateful for everything you have, it qualifies you for more. When you are appreciative for the things you have then you are contented, which equals to a life of peace and happiness. And when you are contented with what you have while you wait for the things you desire, you'll get it eventually.
Also note that you have everything you have for a reason. You were given those results for a reason. It's not for showoff. It's rather a source of motivation for someone. Your story and lifestyle should be a source of Joy and Inspiration to others.
Be Grateful for what you have even if you've not gotten all you desire. This will earn you a life of peace and Happiness.
