THE PRICE BEFORE THE PRIZE

Wooing a lady these days seems to be very easy, but during the days of my grandfather, getting a girl's attention is like trying to pound a corn on a table. You need to see the various techniques and methodologies these guys learned to get the lady to even atleast notice them, but the pain and efforts is worth it after he eventually win her over. This is a true prize won by paying a Price. Here the bride-price he pays is nothing compared to the labor he went through and emotional turmoil he had to endure for several months (some for years). The Prize.

Many times we prefer to calculate the fastest way to achieve a result and we fail to realize that, beyond the beauty of the result there are other things that makes it worth celebrating. Someone I respect a lot ones said to me that he doesn't have much regard for anyone who does not have a track record of some experience before attaining a result. In other words, you gain more respect when people see or read through your record of patience, grit and diligence before getting those covetable achievements.

We have many people today whose results and achievements were inherited, such people will have little or no regard for those who actually worked to earn theirs. What you earn is different from what you inherited. An inheritance is somewhat a gift passed down from someone else to you, your earnings are results from your own work(s).

Do you know you have more motivation when you get a reward that you earned, and more people are easily motivated from your story or achievements too because all they'll need to do is follow your footsteps and apply the same methodologies you employed to achieve that success.  Your diligence can become a source of drive or inspiration for someone else; your commitments and spunk can send someone out of their comfort zone and force them to do better.

They say "if wishes were horses, beggars also would ride."  This statement is funny to me because of how true it is. Many people love free things, many people prefer things to be easy, we fail to realize  that easiness is associated with laziness and we can never gain valuable experiences in life if everything is always done for us. Learn to put your efforts into play and become proud of yourself when the result comes. As a student I love to say this when preparing for an exam and I've use it to motivate many others too, "if what will be set in the exams is  from what I was taught, then I can't fail." Why am I so confident, because I know I'm not lazy, only lazy people would complain and panic during any form of exams.

I once wrote an article where I explained that we live in a world of expectations. Whether you know it or not, there are many people expecting some certain results from you. Many people are waiting for you to announce a feat you just achieved either to celebrate you or to mock and demotivate you. It is an obvious truth that there's a result for anything we do,  every action we take has a reaction to respond to it. As a student, whether you study or not, you'll write an exam and whatever the outcome of that exam is you're responsible for it. As a famer, whether you plant a seed on your land or not, something will grow out from it (weeds). It doesn't matter what you want,  because you didn't plant(act) doesn't mean you won't reap, there is always a reward even when we don't take any action. And there's surely a Price to pay to get that crown.

The world is full of results of various kinds and they are a function of our actions, our daily workout, our daily activities. What are you going to sow to get that covetable result?

Remember, Diligence, grit and consistency is key to getting the prize.
