Times and Seasons
You have to understand how God walks with you.
Its very important for us to understand times and seasons. There are different seasons in a year, different times of the day, different occurrences in life. What works out well in one season might not be same in another. It rained for a season, It might be dry in the next.
Things are gloomy now for you, what if it diminishes later? I know you probably don't wanna hear that, but let me tell you; remember Job? That righteous Wealthy Man in the Bible? Yea, he was a Man who was prepared for any season. He owned everything he ever wanted, but was not carried away by them. He understands times and seasons.
Nobody wants BAD things, but what do you do when bad things happen? Do you gas off? Do you just stumble back? There is still life in every season. You've got to be prepare to fit into any season!
Don't be too attached to your material things, don't be too absorbed in your comfort and wealth, don't be taken away by the beautiful happenings around you, live ready for any season. How would you handle rejection? How would you handle frustration?
You're in high school now, here in Nigeria, it's almost a normal thing for a student to write JAMB more than once before getting into college. Perhaps you've calculated furthering into college immediately you graduate from high school and it didn't happen, what do you do? Are you ready for that? Did you think about or planned for that? Perhaps you calculated already marrying as soon as you graduate from college or just after celebrating 30, but at 31 you've not even gotten a partner yet; what would you do? You didn't planned for that.
I just want you to know that our lives are made up of times and seasons. Now when you've mastered these periods, when you plan for every season, when you prepare yourself for any season, whatever happens, whatever experience life brings to you, it won't change your happiness, it can't make you feel worse. Job never sinned against God despite losing everything. Imagine once called the richest in your Continent, but of a sudden, lost the crown and hit for the dust; but he was a Man who had extraordinary faith in his maker and lived ready for any season.
Your life is gonna be filled with any and every kinds of events, good, bad, exciting, boring, hilarious, ridiculous.. Name it! But when you live ready for any season, you enjoy every season. You have the same reaction for every season of your life. Nobody would know what you're passing through. Today you can literally predict what people are passing through from the expression on their faces.
How do you live ready? By refusing to attatch your happiness and confidence to certain things. This is the advantage the Devil capitalizes on; so now when you attatch your happiness to your house, by the time you loose the house, you literally loose your joy and peace, and if care is not taken, you loose your life in the process, because you will feel you might never get another one. The devil doesn't have to afflict you before taking your peace and joy, he only needs to withdraw what you're attached to the most. So if your confidence is in your Job, then the day you loose the job, you loose your ability to be happy, and that alone can ruin a huge part of your life.
God permits us to go through some seasons in our lives to rebrand us, to redesign our experiences and give us better results, it's never to mock us, its never to make us unhappy, what ever comes your way, it should not take away your joy, it rather should add to your experiences and toss you forward for better results. The same happened to Job, after loosing everything, because he was already a happy Man, prepared for any situation, coupled with God's Grace upon his life, he got back double of all he lost. That's what we're talking about.
Create a happy environment in your mind, and nothing will be strong enough take it away.
